On the edge
of Pichola
Alfresco, all-day food and drinks at the water’s edge, with the City Palace across the lake and a table set for however long you want to stay.
Udaipur · on Lake Pichola
A little closer to the lake, a little closer to beautiful moments.
Ambrai sits right on the ghat at Amet Haveli, so close to Lake Pichola that the water laps below the balustrade. Across it, the whole of old Udaipur: the City Palace, the ghats, the Lake Palace floating white in the middle.

One lake, five ways to spend the day on it
From the breakfast counters to the last candle on the ghat. We’ve opened on what’s happening at the lake right now.
As evening settles, Ambrai lights up
Candles along the ghat, the City Palace lit across the water, and a table set for the evening. Some nights are meant to be spent by the lake.

Four tables, one view that stays with you
Ask for any of them when you book. On a clear evening, we’d say the ghat. On a monsoon afternoon, the Dari.
Akashiya
A new open-sky restaurant on the haveli roof: checkerboard marble, white parasols and red cushions, with nothing between you and the lake.
The Ghat
The table everyone photographs. A long row of pink wrought-iron chairs on the water's edge, under the great spreading tree, facing the City Palace.

The Dari
Chandeliers, painted ceilings and a wall of scalloped windows onto the water. For rainy days, long lunches and a table that feels like a room of its own.

The Bar
A carved marble fountain ringed with candles, a painted bar-back and a bartender who takes his garnish seriously.

Breakfast cooked to order, every morning.

The signature
Stamped with the Ambrai tree, of course.
Old walls, new stories
Ambrai belongs to Amet Haveli, a heritage home on the water that has watched Pichola for generations. Recently restored and rooted in Mewari architecture, local materials and craft, it now carries a rooftop, Akashiya, open to the sky.
A wall, a vision and a little patience.

What guests say
“Sunsets that honestly rival the iconic Taj Lake Palace view.”
“Rooted in Mewari architecture, local materials and craftsmanship.”
“A place made for little moments of laughter and meaningful conversations.”
The lake, the old city, and your table set for the evening
Mehendi on the rooftop, a sangeet on the ghat, a proposal at the corner table as the palace lights come on. Tell us the occasion and our events team will come back with dates.
Hi Ambrai! We're planning a wedding function for about 40 guests and would love to host it at Akashiya rooftop. Could you share dates and options?
